7 Months
My how time flies when you're having fun! It was a great month. Just as your 6th month had some changes, so did your 7th month. You began to get yourself to sleep a little easier. Those first few days were painful for us all, but in the end, it's better for both you and us. It took you a few days to realize that we had not fallen off the face of the Earth, but now (for the most part) you drift off to sleep in a few minutes. Praise the Lord, what an answer to prayer! You normally start getting sleepy between 7:15-7:45 so we begin your bedtime routine around then. You get a bath (every other night with soap), I feed you, then hum you a few songs before lying you down. Most nights you sleep until 6:45-7:30 the next day. Every now and then you will wake up at some point in the middle of the night and cry just a couple of minutes before going back to sleep.
You ate only rice cereal for about 2 weeks and then we decided to give you the good stuff. We bought 3 choices, carrots, sweet potatoes, and green peas. We couldn't decide which one to give you first so we let Lily choose. We put them in a line on the floor and whichever one she sniffed first was what we were going to give you. She chose carrots so they were your first food other than cereal. We would give you each food for a couple of meals to be sure you didn't have an allergic reaction before we would try the next. You enjoyed the carrots as well as sweet potatoes and peaches. The peas, however, not so much in the beginning. The first 2 times you tried them you were gagging and making the funniest of faces. We took a break and then you tried them again a few days later with a little water added to make them thinner. I guess you could say you accepted them this way, but you still didn't give them the same satisfying lip smack as, say, carrots. It has been fun for us to see you react to these new tastes. I can't wait for you to try more and more, I'm excited for you! I still nurse you 5 times a day (7ish, 11ish, 2ish, 5ish and 8ish). I really enjoy that time and wouldn't trade it for anything.
You are still a peanut. Still in some 3-6 month clothes, but you are wearing more and more 6 month ones. You are wearing size 2 diapers and have been for a while now.
You are "saying" all kinds of things to us. We hear lots of babababa, dadadada, and thankfully mamamama. Hearing you get so excited about something and then just babble on is wonderful!
You aren't crawling but instead loving to stand up against anything. Can't wait to see how you begin to explore what's around you. (I'm sure I will then miss you staying in the spot I last put you!) Here's more of your 7th month in pictures:

Waking up from a nap... so sweet. This is your favorite way to sleep. You roll to your right and get snug against the side of your crib.
Play time with your buddy Graham.
Buckled in and ready to chow down.
Ha, I guess you could call this our actual Easter family picture. We had some taken the day before by a professional photographer. Maybe I will do another post on that.
Beautiful girl, dress, grass, and day.
Enjoying playing with Haydyn. I love that you 2 have each other as you grow up.
On Haydyn's spring break we visited Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro. I did a college internship there the summer before my senior year so we decided to go back and visit. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing the tigers and lions, among others. This is Jellybean, a rare white tiger.
Meet Nitro. He's blind, even though he is looking right at the camera.
When I was an intern we would joke that the tigers would stalk the babies that toured. Don't worry, you were safe!
Adorably cute.
Little Miss Giggles
Blue jean baby! This was your first time wearing jeans.
Miss Adelaide and Miss Sock Monkey for another month.
Whew, we can't get enough of you happy girl. We love you more and more!

Stats
We have a little peanut on our hands! From about week 28 on in my pregnancy I measured a little behind. The doctors never seemed to really worry about me/Adelaide being small but kept a close eye on it. They did a few extra non-stress tests just to be sure she was doing okay in there and each time she scored good. We got to see her a couple of extra times on ultrasound so that was fun!
One of the reasons they decided to go on and induce me was because she was still measuring small on ultrasounds and they wanted to go ahead and get her out into our world. Well, when she was born she was 7 lbs. 5 oz. and 19.75 in., normal size for a newborn. When Dr. Gunter first held her he said that she wasn't that small and that the ultrasounds must have calculated wrong. We were so happy she was healthy.
At her doctor's appointments they measure her weight, height, and head circumference. She has consistenly been on the low side of the scale compared to other babies her age. I wanted to post her stats from each of her appointments so far to keep track of them over time. She's our little girl, literally!
2 weeks: 7 lbs. 9 oz. 19.25 in. (measured differently?) 13 1/2 in.
2 months: 10 lbs. (28%) 21 in. (7%) 14 1/2 in. (7%)
4 months: 12 lbs. 1 oz. (10%) 24 in. (30%) (mistake) 15 1/8 in. (5%)
6 months: 13 lbs. 7 oz. (7%) 24 in. (2%) 15 1/2 in. (2%)

6 Months
Finally, a monthly post that is current! Your sixth month was full of changes, both for you and for us. We adapted pretty well I'd have to say. You became nothing short of a pro at sitting up, doing it like you had been doing it your whole life. When I think about you being so tiny just a few short months ago it's kind of unreal, a good unreal though.
Daddy went on a golfing trip to Myrtle Beach with Grandpa, Uncle Chris, and Uncle Jeff over St. Patrick's Day weekend. You and I, along with Granny, sported our green here in Raleigh. Granny was such a blessing to your Mama when she came to stay with us while Daddy was gone. He missed his little girl, I could tell.
Another change for us all was de-swaddling you (yep, we probably made up that word). You loved being swaddled and I credit that fact, along with your love of sleep, for you sleeping so well early on. We knew it was going to be tough breaking you from it, but inevitably it had to happen. You started breaking out of your Daddy's master swaddles and we knew it wouldn't be long. On Mar. 24th we took the plunge and just did it. I think I was more nervous than anything. I mean it's hard to mess with something that had worked so well for so long! It took you a little while to figure out that it was bedtime because apparently being swaddled was a clue that it was sleepy time. You caught on and within a few nights you were going to sleep quicker and staying asleep more during the night.
March brought more wonderful weather and my hands down favorite season, Spring! There is nothing quite like budding trees, bees, warm weather, and beautiful blossoms. We enjoyed many walks with our friends Amber and Graham... I so enjoy that time.
One word, solids! We had been blessed beyond measure with nursing and up until the day you turned 6 months you had survived totally on mom's milk. Words can't describe what a blessing spending that time with you has been. It was time for you to enjoy something more and we started you out with rice cereal at dinner. You seemed to atleast be ok with it and we were so excited for you to experience something new.
You went back to the doctor for your 6th month appointment. 3 shots and many kisses later we were out of there and no more shots until your 1 year appointment. Gosh, now that you're half of it, I don't even want to think about you being 1 year old. We love you so much, Adelaide.

Your month in review:
I should have included this is your 5 month post but didn't take the picture until later. Your sweet Daddy came home on Valentine's Day with flowers for both of us. What a great Daddy, he loves you so much.
Looking sleepy.
The only time you have fallen asleep in the swing. I was making dinner and looked over and your sweet little eyes were so droopy and the next thing I knew you were out, still holding onto the toy. There is just something about watching your precious baby sleeping. Agree?
Our beloved Wolfpack made it to the Sweet Sixteen! There was a big gathering for them at the basketball center when they came back but we one-upped most fans and met them at the airport for the early bird celebration. Of course you were in your cheerleading outfit!
Your first stroller ride as a big girl, no longer in the carseat. You seemed to love it! It probably didn't hurt that Lily was walking along ahead of you.
I almost fell out! After taking dinner to some friends of ours that recently had a baby I looked in the mirror and you had stuck the crazy Wubanub in your mouth and fell asleep.... could not believe my eyes. I think this is the only time you've ever fallen asleep with it in your mouth.
Loving Daddy time!?! Or should we say, loving Adelaide time!?!
Cutie pie!
Wolfpack pillowcase dress, compliments of Aunt Kim.
My sweet sitter.
Basket of fun!
You had no idea what was coming your way.
First spoonful!
Funny face!
There's a smile!
6 months.
You finally noticed the sticker on your onesie. This newfound fun made for some interesting picture taking!
Miss Adelaide with Miss Sock Monkey.
Love you sweet girl.

5 Months
We are loving this family of 3 (plus Lily!) thing. You bring us so much joy and laughter. Don't get me wrong, those times you wake up in the middle of the night and need our attention are hard. And let's not forget that you're famous for your 30 minute cat naps. You're absolutely worth it though. We began to see a little more of your personality come out this month. Your smiles are, seemingly, never-ending. You are such a shy girl. When people speak to you while we are holding you, you give a slight smile and put your head into our shoulders. It's precious and melts our hearts. We noticed what toys you were more drawn to and how much you loved to play with them. You slowly began to sit on your own. It was kinda crazy how it all happened and we aren't really sure when it happened. I began to just sit you up during our playtimes and you quickly caught on that this new way of seeing the world was much cooler than lying flat on the floor. You started on your own by "tripoding" (putting your hands down for balance) a week or so before my birthday. You could do it for a few minutes or so and then would topple over. It didn't take you much longer before you were sure enough to let go of the floor to move your hands all around. Before we knew it you were sitting there like a little girl, our baby was growing and developing so much. Here is your 5th month in pictures.
This is what our dinners look like. Move over tulips, you are our new centerpiece! And let's just pretend that the caution symbol on the Bumbo doesn't say, "Never use on any elevated surface!"
Getting excited for your bath!
You found your toes awhile back but this was the first time you figured out how to get those wiggly things in your mouth, the eventual place of everything you get your hands on.
"Tripoding". Look at that sweet face.
Mmmm, duck tastes so good. This little rubber ducky is the one we got for you on our trip to Boston/Niagara Falls. Due to your shyness (which is totally evident now) we still didn't know if you were a girl or boy but we wanted so badly to get you something. A rubber ducky is classic so we decided to play it safe. You love it, just as we anticipated.
Your first snow came after you were snoozing for the night but held out for a few picture opportunities the next morning. Next year, if we are lucky enough to see snow, I have a feeling you won't be this still.
Cannot. get. enough.
Poor little sock monkey. Up until now she has been sitting idly by as we snap adorable pictures of you. This month, however, you got her in on some major action.
I know what you're thinking, a staged picture. Oh no, this was all your doing. So glad we were able to capture it.
Your best wrestling move, not sure what you will do with it in the future though.
Sitting up!
A tad more old-school. And by old-school we mean the last 4 month's pictures.
Our precious 5 month old! We love you!
