I think I remember...

...how to do this!  World's Best Blogger here, I'm back for another edition.  I figured since it has been around 7 months since I have last posted I should get my game face on for a bit.  Way too much to try and explain thoroughly but I will do my best.

Adelaide, you just turned 2!!  How did that happen?  I mean really.  There are some days when I can't believe time has flown by like it has and then other days I feel like I have known you forever and I can't imagine my days without your sweet face.  We've had a good time since I've last blogged and I will attempt to share some of that with you in pictures below, because after all this blog is for you and your baby sister.  Whoa, wait, what?  Yeah, it needs to be said on here that you are going to have a baby sister, oh so soon.  You are really into the thought of having her around, or at least at this point you have us believing that.  We think you will be a wonderful big sister and will love her dearly.  You are all about my growing belly and hugging her and calling her "baby sister" as we are not sharing her name before she is born like we didn't with you.  I believe that you think her name is actually "sister" because we refer to other babies as "Baby ____".  We would love to tell you but know there are some people out there that will get it out of you!  As more baby stuff is brought out of the attic and we are getting her room finished, I feel you are realizing that it won't be much longer.  You are one sweet girl and I can't wait to see you interact with her.  Now, I'm not completely naïve that you will love her at all moments but I can see that you already care a lot about her and that makes my heart smile.  I can't wait for that first family of 4 picture, it is going to be one sweet moment!  And, then of course the family of 5 when we get home to Lily.  I could go on and on about all this so for now let's check out some of what we have been up to.

The morning we found out you were going to be a Big Sister!

Sunglasses fun

Sorry for this one, but it must be documented.  We let you sit on the potty every now and then just to see how it goes, without expectations.

This time we were all surprised with what happened!  You did it, but we haven't gotten down to business yet.

Gymnastics classes in which you loved!

Budding artist?  You have officially picked your right hand to be the dominant one.

We made all the faces you know for the camera one day (shy, happy, sad, kissy, surprised, angry, silly).  This is our shy face!

Sweet feet

Hugging Baby Sister!  You do this so often and I love it.

Yum!  You have come so far in your eating since we started acid reflux medicine and then added an appetite stimulant.

Fun with banana stickers at the grocery store.

You started a Mother's Morning Out program, on Wednesday mornings.  You weren't a huge fan of me leaving you there, but they said you have fun while you were there.  You're getting better about me leaving you now, thankfully, and actually cried on the way home this week saying you wanted to go back to school.  I hope you love your time there.

Superwoman.  You love swinging this way now.

Thanks to Jenn and David, we were able to go to a Wolfpack game and bring you.  You had a great time seeing everything and you did great while being there.

Happy 2 years sweet girl!!

Playing in your new sandbox from Gram and Grandpa.

On your actual birthday Daddy took off work and we went out to breakfast at Bob Evans then to Marbles for a day dedicated to you having fun!

You also played in your new Doc McStuffins tent.

And had cookie cake to finish off the celebrations!  By the way, your 2 year stats were the best!  You weighed 23 lbs. 14 oz.  That puts you in the 15% for weight (highest ever!) and measured in at 33.75 in. putting you at 59% for height (how did that happen?!).  Your head circumference is 18 in. but we didn't get a % for that one.  We are super proud of how well you've been eating and hope it continues.

Being silly with Daddy before bathtime.  I have no clue what you two were doing but I had to snap a picture.

Your first parade and it just so happened to be at Mule Days!

Overall you seemed to like it but there were a few times when loud sounds passed by that made you less than excited.  I loved it that you wanted me to hold your hand.

Lily had surgery to have a mass removed and was still a little out of it when she came home.  You brought her the little balls to make her feel better.  You're such a kind and thoughtful girl.  You also do this when children around you are upset or crying.

A diaper and wipes shower for Baby Sister.

Helping me cook on the stool.  You obviously love it!

Oh my goodness, what a face.

You said, "Mommy, take a picture."  Gladly sweetheart, gladly.

First time with painted toenails!  I got a pedicure and for whatever reason you were all about it so I asked to do yours and you were fine with it.  I had tried several months earlier and you weren't having it.

What I get for asking you to help me make a banana pudding, ha!

Spending time with Papa.

Whew, there you go... longest update ever?!

As time is drawing super close to having your sister here with us I wanted to share a few of my thoughts with you.  You truly are a special blessing to your Daddy and I.  We love each day with you and can't wait to see your smiling face each morning.  Now don't get me wrong, there are some trying times as you are growing into your independence, but I love each day I get to spend with you.  The last 24 months of just you and I during the days make my heart smile... the best of my life.  I am so blessed to be able to spend my days with you.  I will never forget all the days when just you and I got to hang out and enjoy our time together.

When your sister is here our time will be divided, but we will love you no less.  You would have been enough for us but we felt the need to grow our family.  We wanted to give you a best friend and it happens to be a sister.  We are super excited that you will be right at 2 years apart.  We wish you both many years of love and fun and that, Lord willing, you will still be best friends way far down the road!  We praise God for both of you and can't wait to see what the future holds for us.  We love you, Adelaide.
